Jean-François Gagné is an entrepreneur and the founder and CEO of Nera Software. He co-founded and led Element AI, later acquired by ServiceNow, where he served as VP of AI Strategy and Product Management. His work connects AI product development, enterprise adoption and human agency. He has contributed to the European Commission’s AI High-Level Expert Group and co-chaired working groups and advisory bodies in international AI policy and Canadian public service.

Jean-François Gagné is an entrepreneur and the founder and CEO of Nera Software. He co-founded and led Element AI, later acquired by ServiceNow, where he served as VP of AI Strategy and Product Management. His work connects AI product development, enterprise adoption and human agency. He has contributed to the European Commission’s AI High-Level Expert Group and co-chaired working groups and advisory bodies in international AI policy and Canadian public service. Before Element AI, he led product strategy at JDA Software and founded JDA Labs, its innovation organization. Earlier work at Planora and RedPrairie focused on optimization and advanced analytics. His public contributions include co-rapporteur work on the HLEG Ethics Guidelines for Trustworthy AI, co-chairing GPAI’s Innovation and Commercialization Working Group, and co-chairing Canada’s COVID Alert Advisory Council. He writes about AI governance, talent, company building and the role of people in increasingly automated systems.
